Dear Parents,

May our Lord strengthen you in the New Year 2010 and may He give you the graces you need to continue being loving families.  May He also bless you with His peace!

No doubt, there are many things in your lives that create a spirit that is less than peaceful.  Your concern about your children, financial obligations, health problems and other difficult situations can cause great turmoil in your lives.  It is especially at those times that God asks us to believe that He is with us, not taking away our pain, but assuring us that He will give us the help we need to be strong and to continue living in spite of difficulties.  Know that He loves each one of you very much!

Please remember your responsibilities as Catholics during this Christmas break.  Christmas day falls on a Friday this year.  Please bring your entire family to Mass on this day.  The schedule is as follows:

                    December 24th - Family Mass & Pageant  3:30PM

                    December 24th - Christmas Mass 10:00PM

                    December 25th - 7:30AM-9:30AM-11:30AM

Classes will resume on January 4, 2010.  Please take some time over the Christmas break to review some of our rules and policies.  These can be found in the back of the calendars that every family received in August.  Take special note of our policies regarding tardiness, dress code (especially the part about proper haircuts), and our code of conduct.  This way we will all be starting the new year fresh and on the same page.  I thank you in advance for supporting our school policies at home.

I would like to draw your attention to a correction in our original calendar.  The date for Catholic Schools week was incorrect.  Catholic Schools week will be celebrated January 31 to February 5.   Therefore, February 5th will be a half Day, noon dismissal NOT January 29th.  Everyone is invited to begin our week celebration on Sunday January 31st at the 9:30AM Mass.  Bishop Gustavo will be the main celebrant at this Liturgy.  Immediately following the Mass will be our annual Open House.

And, finally, a reminder that ALL school families should be attending mass on the weekends.  As stated in the school agreement:

"The parish subsidizes kindergarten through eighth grade students from active parish families families who consistently attend weekend mass.  School families offertory envelopes are monitored as an indicator of Church attendance which then determines their tuition rate."

If you have not been attending Mass and using your offertory envelopes, the parish subsidy per child will be added to your tuition in January.

On behalf of our entire faculty, I take this opportunity to wish each of you a wonderful 2010 and may this new year be filled with many graces and blessings for each of you.

May God continue to bless you and your family.
