Debbie Lipien attended Carl A. Sward Grammar School. From there she went to Harold L. Richards High School and then received her degree from Lewis University. As a young teacher, Debbie started her career by substituting in various suburban schools, but found her niche here at St. Syms, where she has been teaching for the past 29 years. Debbie is compassionate, spiritual, patient and knows her students well, encouraging them to find their strengths. She is married and loves to crochet in her free time. Debbie is very involved in Church activities and has been certified in an Archdiocese Lay Ministry Formation Program. She has been nominated for the Golden Apple and has received the Heart of the Schools Award. She’s also been published in Who’s Who Among American Teachers.
