Valerie Kowaluk started her education at St. Maurice. From there she attended Curie High School and Eureka College, later receiving her Master’s Degree from Dominican University. Valerie has been teaching for fourteen years, seven at various schools and the past seven at St. Syms. Valerie is always using innovative and creative ideas in her classroom that engage, encourage and interest her students. She is single and unwinds by crafting, building puzzles and by adding to her impressive collections of Mr. Potato Heads, penguins and Nativity sets. Valerie has been nominated for Who’s Who Among American Teachers, Cambridge Who’s Who Among Professional Women in Education,and the Disney Award. She’s received the Heart of the Schools Award.
