Robert Culen was a student at St. Joseph Grammar School. He went on to St. Rita High School, then Lewis University, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Education from St. Xavier University. Bob was in administration for fifteen years and taught for seventeen. He’s been at St. Syms for the last six years. Students respect his good natured attitude and his environmental awareness and commitment to ecology motivates them to care for and learn more about our planet. He has inspired students at St. Christina’s, the Chicago Children’s Museum, the DuPage Children’s Museum and the Southern Illinois Science Center. He currently sits on the Teacher Advisory Council at the Shedd Aquarium. Bob has two sons and three granddaughters. He unwinds by cooking, camping and woodworking.
