Barbara Callahan started her education at St. Thomas More Grammar School. Afterwards she attended Queen of Peace High School and finally Chicago State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education. She has been teaching for thirty five years, with the first twenty three spent at Little Flower School. St. Syms is lucky to have her on staff for the past twelve years as she brings humor and energy to our school, putting students and faculty alike at ease with her friendly attitude. Barb loves to travel, read, and do crossword and Sudoku puzzles. She enjoys swimming, dancing, walking and singing. Barb has been nominated for the Golden Apple and Walt Disney Awards. She has received two “You Made a Difference” Awards, an “Outstanding Teacher” Award, The Heart of the Schools Award and she’s been published in Who’s Who Among American Teachers.
